Gather Your Supplies Here’s what you’ll need to transform your nails with press-ons:
Nail polish removerNail clippersNail fileNail bufferCuticle pusher stickA bowl of warm waterRubbing alcohol and cotton roundsNail glueA press-on nail set

Prepare Your NailsPreparing your nail beds and cuticles before applying your press-on nails will ensure that the final result looks as clean and natural as possible. It will also help your manicure last longer.
Clean Your NailsStart by removing any existing nail polish, then washing and drying your hands so they’re free of any oils or other residues.
Clean Up Your CuticlesNext, soak your nails in a bowl of warm water for several minutes to soften your cuticles. Then push your cuticles back with a cuticle pusher stick (but don’t trim the cuticles, as this can lead to infection).
Trim, File, and Buff Your Nails
Wipe Nails with Rubbing AlcoholTo remove excess oil from your nail beds, wipe them down with rubbing alcohol and let it fully evaporate. This will ensure maximum adhesion and staying power of the nail glue you’re about to apply.
Choose 10 Press-Ons That Fit Your Nail Beds
To measure your nail beds for press-on nails, use the tape & ruler method: place tape across the widest part of each nail, mark the sidewalls, then measure the tape in millimeters with a ruler for each finger (pinky to thumb, both hands), and compare these widths to the brand's sizing chart to find your best fit, sizing up if between sizes

Typical MM Measurements for Standard KitsThumb: ~14-18mm (e.g., XS: 14mm, L: 17-18mm)Index: ~10-13mm (e.g., XS: 10mm, L: 13mm)Middle: ~11-14mm (e.g., XS: 11mm, L: 14mm)Ring: ~10-13mm (e.g., XS: 10mm, L: 13mm)Pinky: ~8-11mm (e.g., XS: 8mm, L: 10-11mm)

Apply Nail Glue and Press-On NailsStarting from your pinkies and working your way toward your thumbs, glue down each nail one by one. For each nail, apply the nail glue to each of your natural nails and (depending on how long you intend to wear them) the back of your press-on nails.
Here’s how much glue to use, depending on how long you plan to wear your press-ons:
1-3 days: Apply a thin line of glue from the natural nail, cuticle to tip4-6 days: Apply a pearl-sized dot of glue to the natural nail7-14 days: Apply a thin layer of glue to the back of the press-on nail and a pea size dot of glue to the natural nailAllow the glue to dry for several seconds, and then begin applying by aligning the base of each press-on nail with the cuticle and applying them at a 45-degree angle. Press down on each nail firmly for 30 seconds to keep it in place.

AftercareAvoid Water: Do not get your nails wet for at least an hour after application; overnight is even better. Avoid excessive exposure to hot water during wear, as it can weaken the adhesive bond.Be Gentle: Wear protective gloves when doing household chores like washing dishes.Removal: When you want to remove the nails, do not pull them off dry as this can cause damage to your natural nails. Instead, soak them in warm, soapy water or an acetone-based remover until the glue softens, allowing them to pop off gently.
